House Description
Casa Iris is a well furnished villa in a convenient location on the edge of the village of Los Romanes, with stunning views over Lake Vinuela, a private heated swimming pool, this is a home, and has been furnished as such; it is certainly not a typical rental villa, all rooms have air conditioning. The villa has plenty of outside space with both sunny and shaded areas, a covered dining terrace, sun loungers and private parking for several cars.
On entering the front door into the hallway, you will find a guest toilet with shower cubicle and was hand basin.
KITCHEN
Fully fitted modern kitchen with all integrated appliances, juicer, breakfast bar, with bar stools window with views over the lake.
Lounge /Diner
Two leather comfortable sofas, TV bookshelves with games and plenty of books to read while you relax, Wood burner for the winter evenings and two panel radiators. Two sets of patio doors leading onto a covered terrace Dining table and six chairs another set of patio doors on to the terrace all have wonderful views of the lake. Outside;
Parking through the double gates, kidney shape pool, with plenty of space for sun loungers, also some shade from the midday sun, steps down to the lower gardens, also from the pool terrace a few steps up to the dining terrace, where there is a BBQ table and six chairs for outside dining, taking in the spectacular views of the lake, there is plenty of room for sun lounger on this terrace.
A complimentary welcome pack will be provided with each arrival of one week or more, and a ‘full shop’ can be pre-ordered by email, at cost, plus a €30 surcharge. We will require a refundable £150/€150 security deposit payable in cash on arrival, this covers accidental damage up to the cost of £150Gbp. Non-accidental damage will be dealt with locally. It will be refunded on completion of a final clean and check at the end of your stay, usually within five days.
We offer a 10% discount for bookings on the second of two weeks or more outside the peak season.
The villa is thoroughly cleaned prior to occupation and again in accordance with length of stay. Additional cleaning can be provided as required and subject to charge. Included within your holiday price; all towels, including ones for the pool, fair usage electricity and gas, and complimentary Wi-fi.
There is complete no smoking policy inside the villa, however ashtrays are provided on the terraces.
Baby equipment can be provided a small extra cost, on a first come first served basis e.g. cots, highchair.
We have no fixed changeover days and we will always be flexible to suit your flights and arrival times, however, when it is unavoidable, and to allow time for a proper clean; we would ask that you vacate by 10.00 and not arrive before 16.00.
We have no problem with late arrivals, however, any guests scheduled to arrive at the villa between 20.00 and 23.59 there will be a €50 surcharge, and for arrivals between 00.00 and 03.00 it will be €90 payable locally on arrival.
Other Services
Car hire, airport transfers and days out. We can offer extremely competitive car rental from Malaga airport, alternatively we can arrange to transfer you to the villa from the airport. Should you arrange to collect your car at the airport, our agent will meet you, hand you the keys and you will be on your way in minutes, potentially saving you considerable time queuing at the rental desk.

We have a chef that will come to the villa and cook a memorable dinner for you, he will cook, serve, and clear away….you won’t know that he have been!
There is also a hairdryer in each of the bathrooms.

To have the pool heated, there is an extra charge of £95GBp per week, the heater will raise the temperature around 10 degrees higher than ambient.
In the immediate area, you can walk, go bird-watching, paint, or for the more energetic; mountain bike, kayak, or sail on Lake Vinuela.
Coast/Beach
One of the largest indoor shopping malls in the region, with a multiple screen cinema showing English language films is only 15 minutes’ drive away. The mall has one of the largest supermarkets in the area with amazing local produce available. There are also numerous markets, two local 18-hole golf courses, and the nearest beaches are only 20 minutes’ drive away. There is an aqua park near to the shopping mall, you can leave your car hear and catch a bus in to the local town of Velez Malaga, and its seaside resort; Torre del Mar, both have large and very busy markets on Thursday mornings.
Golf
There are 2 very good local golf courses, both having spectacular views as you play. Baviera is 20 minutes’ drive and Anoreta is 30 minutes. We have several full sets of right-handed clubs, tees, and balls available for hire.
Skiing
We are about 95 minutes’ drive away from the ski slopes of the Sierra Nevada, the slopes are suitable for skiers of all levels of skill and experience, but you do not have to ski to have an excellent day out. There are separate free sledging runs for the children to enjoy, with sledges for hire at a few euros. The ski village is also an excellent place to visit in the summer where mountain bikes are available to hire.
Travel
Malaga airport is less than a one-hour drive and Granada airport is just 25 minutes more, airport transfers can be arranged with an English driver who knows where the villa is located. Due to our rural location, the use of a car is essential.
Distances
There are a huge number of things to do and places to visit. Within the immediate vicinity there are; Land Rover safaris in to the mountains, horse riding, quad biking, mountain biking, walking, and hiking, bird watching, tennis and sailing, kayaking, and fishing in the spectacular Lake Vinuela. Sightseeing tours can be arranged to The Alhambra Palace, Nerja and the Caves, the water park, Malaga Botanical Gardens, Malaga city, Benalmadena marina, Ronda, and Gibraltar.
Further details
Alcaucin, Puente don Manuel, Los Romanes, Periana and Lake Vinuela are all very close and have lots of superb tapas bars and restaurants offering local well-cooked dishes. They have markets on different days and all have their own ‘fiestas’, full of colour, flamenco, and local traditions. During the summer, rarely does more than a few days pass when there is not a fiesta to be visited, celebrating; peaches, wine, grapes, raisins and not forgetting olives, basically any reason to party.
