House Description

Casa Golondrina – The House of the Swallows – is an elegant white modern villa boasting extraordinary views across the turquoise water of Lake Viñuela to a magnificent range of mountains.

Casa Golondrina is one of five luxury villas in a quiet cul de sac. Nestled into the hillside, it offers everything needed for a great holiday.

Our huge light and airy living room has big glass doors opening out onto a spacious top terrace, with two large dining tables and sun beds for all.

Here you can relax, sunbathe, BBQ your lunch, read or doze in the shade, fill a glass and watch the mountains change colour as the day retreats.

Our ground floor living space offers two big comfy sofas, dining for six, a modern TV, WiFi and British TV, a DVD library, music CD’s, books and games to help you relax and a wood burner for cooler nights later in the season.

The lovely modern kitchen is fully equipped with cooker, dishwasher, washing machine, toaster, microwave, fridge/freezer, cool box, juicer, iron and ironing board, and a ‘Play it again Sam’ overhead fan.

This floor also has an upstairs cloakroom.

The villa has air conditioning throughout.

Marble stairs take you down to two double bedrooms with king size beds [one en-suite], both having lake views, and a pretty bedroom with two single beds which offers the possibility of a parent/baby room. There is a family bathroom with a bath/shower on this floor.

All the bedrooms have patio door access to the bedroom terrace and down a further level to the pool. The bedroom terrace also has a shaded area with basket-weave sofas, perfect for a peaceful read.

The 8x4m private pool is recently refurbished, with shallow entry steps. Below it the view runs uninterrupted across the countryside down to the lake. The villa has off road parking and a small courtyard garden to one side. The swimming pool is partially overlooked, but has not caused any problems for our guests.

All the bedrooms have large fitted wardrobes, chests of drawers, hairdryers, double glazed patio doors, and mosquito screens.

There is no smoking allowed inside the villa, however we do provide ashtrays on the terraces.

Los Romanes is one of Andalucía’s famous white villages and extra special as it overlooks the lake. The village boasts two local shops, an artisan bakery, an olive oil mill, three friendly bars and Venta El Charco, truly one of the region’s best meat restaurants; now offering occasional live music in the summer months. Local villages have restaurants, cash points, chemists and a 24 hour health centre.

Visitors can sail, walk, horse ride, cycle, enjoy the mountains and the food, explore the white villages, go kayaking, quad biking, white water rafting, and party at the area’s endless fiestas. Torre del Mar and Nerja beaches are 20 and 40 minutes away. With beach bars, beach beds and good food they make for an easy beach day out. The old town of Velez Malaga is 15 minutes away, exciting Malaga is 45 mins. Rhonda, Granada, Gibraltar, Seville and other excursions make a terrific day out, they are around two hours drive away.
